INSTALL METHODS AND KITS

MONDAY: Micro Link & Tape In Methods

  • The Micro Link Method, also known as the Invisible Bead Technique, uses only a weft, a bead, and the client's hair. Unlike a braid-less sew-in, there is no thread used to attach the weft to the client's hair. True to its name, the bead in a Micro Link install is hidden from the naked eye, creating the illusion of not wearing extensions. This method offers a more natural, flat, seamless appearance for clients wearing extensions.

  • The Micro Link 1 on 1 Training Course includes a Full Kit. This kit contains all the Micro Link Tools necessary for the class, your model, and future clients.

The kit includes 200 grams (2 bundles) of 18” Weft Hair for use on the model. Any hair that is not used is yours to keep!

  • Tape-Ins is a method that involves using two 1.5-inch wide, pre-taped weft extensions, which are attached to a client's hair in a sandwich-like manner. The client's hair is divided into quarter-inch subsections, and one piece of tape is attached to the top, while another piece is attached to the bottom, with the client's hair sandwiched in the middle. The tape-in is then secured using pliers to ensure that the top tape-in is in contact with the bottom one.

  • The Tape In 1 on 1 Training Course includes a Full Kit. This kit contains all the Tape In Tools necessary for the class, your model, and future clients.

The kit includes 200 grams (80 pieces) of 18” Tape In Hair for use on the model. Any hair that is not used is yours to keep!

TUESDAY: I-Tip Method

  • The I-Tip Method, also known as the Strand By Strand Micro Link Method, uses small sections of hair held together by keratin, shaped like a shoestring. These tiny extensions are added to the client's hair using a threading method. This involves looping the hair into a threader tool and pulling it through a small cylinder bead. The I-Tip extension is then positioned inside the bead along with the client's hair and secured with pliers.

  • The I-Tip 1 on 1 Training Course includes a Full Kit. This kit contains all the I-Tip Tools necessary for the class, your model, and future clients.

The kit includes 200 grams (pieces) of 18” I-Tip Hair for use on the model. Any hair that is not used is yours to keep!

Choosing a Model

You will need 2 models

We will conduct hands-on training on both Monday and Tuesday between 1pm and 6pm.

Since we are discussing two methods on Monday, your first model will undergo a "Hybrid Install".

A Hybrid Install is an install that alternates between both install types on different rows. You'll apply the first install type to one row, and the second install type, to the next row.
This alternating pattern continues around the head, allowing you to experience both types of installs on all sections of the head.

When selecting your model for Monday, please inform them that they will have two different types of installs.

Install Type Schedule:

Monday: Micro Links/ Tape Ins

Tuesday: I-Tips

By the end of this two-day course, you will have accomplished full installations using all three techniques on a live model.

Hair Density

Low Density

Density affects How long it takes and how much hair we Use.

How Long it Takes:
We have 5 hours to complete an entire install. The more hair they have the longer it takes.

How Much Hair We Use:
Your Kit comes with 200 grams that is more than enough to finish a dow density client.

Hair Length

Collar Bone Length

Length affects Placement and the Seamless Look

Placement:
We need enough length to b able to create some versatility. If the hair is too short we can't.

Seamless Look:
Your Kit comes with 18" Hair, your clients hair can't be too long or short to create the look.

Hair Color

Natural 1B Color ONLY

Color affects The Blend and The Finish Look.

The Blend:
The Extensions in your Kit are a 1B so your client needs to be 1B as well.

The Finish Look:
This is will be your first model to show potential clients. If the color doesn't match it won't work.
